Discovery Zone
The Spring Creek
Elementary Discovery Zone is an exciting and
motivational academic experience which supplements and
supports the science curriculum. Students are challenged
to create, investigate, research, and DISCOVER
scientific concepts through a series of center-based
performance tasks.
A lab class
provides a hands-on opportunity for students to
individually develop a
more concrete understanding of the scientific method and
other scientific concepts.
Each April, a
Discovery Zone Fair offers students an opportunity to
explore a specific
topic in depth and share their findings with family and
peers.
The Science Sleuths
Club, an extension of the Discovery Zone, meets one
weekday
morning to allow participation in varied projects of the
students’ choosing such as
planting gardens, water testing and ecology, and using
microscopic technology.
