What is Young Five?
Young Five is a full day, free program that will be available to children turning five years old between May 1st and September 1st, 2021.
- Young Five is intended to allow students an extra year of development, independence, maturity, and building fine and gross motor skills before attending Kindergarten.
- Young Fives will be taught by a certified, highly-qualified teacher.
- Students attending Young Fives will enter Kindergarten the following school year.
- The Young Five curriculum is based on the Florida Standards for Kindergarten modified to meet the foundational academic, social/emotional, and developmental needs for younger children.
Who Should Consider Young Five?
- Your child was born between May 1st and September 1st.
- Your child would benefit from an extra year for social & emotional development.
- Your child would benefit from an extra year of academics prior to Kindergarten.
